THE OPPORTUNITY

n

We're looking for a Head of Finance to join Baby Bunting and help shape our financial future. The Head of Finance is a senior leader at Baby Bunting, an ASX-listed retailer operating in Australia and Current Zealand.

n

As Head of Finance, you'll oversee financial accounting, banking, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable while playing a key role in commercial finance, performance management, and sustainability reporting. Like what you hear so far? Here's what's ahead of you:

n

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you'll work closely with key internal stakeholders, including the CEO, Legal, ELT, Finance Manager, AP Manager, Payroll Manager, and Head of FP&A.;

n

You'll be responsible for:

n

Financial Reporting & Compliance – Leading all financial accounting functions, ensuring compliance with ASX regulations, and maintaining accurate financial reporting.

n

Audit & Risk Management – Overseeing external audit processes, managing financial risks, and leading risk management frameworks.

n

Treasury, FX & Cash Management – Managing daily banking, cash control processes, supplier trading terms, and foreign exchange risk.

n

Sustainability Accounting – Implementing new sustainability accounting standards to enhance transparency and accountability.

n

Taxation & Compliance – Managing tax obligations across Australia and New Zealand while optimizing taxation strategies.

n





Leadership & Commercial Support – Leading and mentoring the finance team while driving strategic financial insights that support business growth.

Payroll Management – Ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing.

n

If you've gotten this far, then you're up for the challenge. I'm not going to give you the usual laundry list of requirements, but this stuff is essential:

- Proven experience (15+ years) in senior finance roles, preferably in retail or large-format operations.
n
- CA/CPA Qualified
n
- Retail experience
n
- Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial accounting standards, planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
n
- Experience leading finance teams and collaborating with executive stakeholders.
n
- Exceptional analytical skills with a strategic mindset and commercial awareness.
n
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
n
- Strong business acumen with a passion for driving performance and growth.
n

It would be nice (but not essential) if you also have:

- Experience in ASX-listed companies.
