One of our federal government clients is seeking to engage a Lead Data Scientist.

n

Location of work: Canberra/ Offsite

n

Length of contract: 12 months

n

Contract extensions: 24 months extension (two extensions of twelve months each)

n

Security clearance: Australian Citizen (client intends to process Baseline security clearance after onboarding)

n

Key Duties and Responsibilities

n

Our ideal candidate will:

n

n
- Have experience in the use of DevOps and MLOps as they apply to data science activities with Azure Machine Learning Studio and Cognitive Services.
n
- Have experience with delivering data science solutions with Microsoft technologies.
n
- Be able to apply judgment and critical thinking skills to problem-solve.
n
- Have demonstrated government sector experience, including working in small project teams.
n

Minimum Requirements

n

The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one-page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters.

n

n
- Minimum 2 years design and working knowledge in Azure Machine Learning. Deep understanding of ML models, model training, validation, and implementation of such models for scoring/inferencing.
n




- Practical experience in ML Ops in managing the lifecycle of ML models. Experience with the following model types is highly desirable:n n
- Classification models
n
- Regression/forecasting models
n
- Clustering models
n
- Computer vision
n
- Generative AI / Natural Language processing - LLM/SLM Models.
n

n
- Design experience in Generative AI solutions using open source LLM models, particularly with Azure or OpenAI Service. Design experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications using Large Language models such as Azure Open AI - GPT-4.
n
- Experience in development and deployment of ML Models as online endpoints, inferencing APIs using AML SDK / Notebook, data stores, and data assets to work with Azure blob storage and data lake.
n
- Experience in LLM prompt engineering and implementation of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pattern and factual grounding techniques.
n
- Experience in developing and deploying Python web applications using Azure Cloud.
