Located approximately 30km south of Walgett, this family-owned and operated farming enterprise runs a substantial dryland cropping program alongside trade cattle. The business continues to invest heavily in its future, with significant infrastructure upgrades currently underway including accommodation improvements and the construction of a large on-farm grain storage complex. Cropping operations are supported by a modern machinery fleet including New Holland tractors, self-propelled and camera-guided spraying equipment, large-scale sowing rigs, own harvesting equipment and extensive grain handling infrastructure.
Reporting directly to the owners and working alongside a relatively young crew, this position will suit an experienced farm hand who enjoys taking ownership of their work, operating modern machinery and contributing to a business focused on long-term growth. Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Operate and maintain broadacre cropping machinery across sowing, spraying, harvesting and cultivation programs.
- Assist with grain handling, storage operations and general farm development projects.
- Complete routine machinery servicing, maintenance and basic workshop duties.
- Support day-to-day farm operations while contributing to efficient and safe work practices across the business.
Selection Criteria:
- Previous experience in broadacre dryland cropping operations.
- Competent operating modern agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and address machinery issues.
- Reliable, self-motivated operator who can work independently and take responsibility for outcomes.
