Job Description
Position Title: Project Controls Officer
n
Reporting to (position): Program Director

About the Job
n
The Project Controls Officer is responsible for providing project controls leadership, governance, and analytical support across a large-scale energy storage and data‐centre‐integrated infrastructure program located in Brisbane.
n
The role ensures accurate schedule, cost, risk, and performance management across Stages 1–5. It enables decision‐making grounded in reliable data, consistent governance, and project‐level transparency aligned with delivery expectations.
n
This position works closely with the leadership team, project engineering teams, commercial teams, and external stakeholders to support efficient delivery, construction readiness, and ongoing execution.

Key Accountabilities
n
Project Controls
n
n
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules spanning all delivery stages, identifying dependencies and critical path activities.
n
- Consolidate project cost data, monitor expenditure, identify variances, and support early mitigation of budget risks.
n
- Monitor and report project performance metrics including KPIs, earned value, cost forecasts, and schedule adherence.
n
- Support project‐level risk and issue management, maintaining risk registers and ensuring timely escalation and mitigation.
n
- Lead and manage the change control process, ensuring all impacts on cost, schedule, and scope are evaluated and documented.
n

Governance & Reporting
n
n
- Ensure alignment with governance standards applied to the program and compliance with relevant internal reporting frameworks.
n
- Prepare executive‐level dashboards, reports, and analytics to inform strategic and operational decision‐making.
n
n
Cross‐Functional Coordination (Execution Team)
n
n
- Work effectively with engineering, construction, commercial, stakeholder engagement, and grid‐connection teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
n
- Maintain solid lines of communication to ensure information flow, project alignment, and visibility of emerging risks or constraints.
n
n
Experience
n
n
- Essential: 3+ years' experience in project controls, cost engineering, scheduling, or program analytics within large infrastructure or energy projects. (Derived from program controls duties and large‐scale project environment.)
n
- Preferred: Experience supporting construction‐phase reporting and governance.
n
- Preferred: Experience coordinating project controls for multi‐stage or multi‐workstream programs.
n
n
Capabilities

- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem‐solving skills.
n
- High proficiency with project controls tools and Microsoft Office.
n
- Ability to consolidate large volumes of data and communicate insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
n
- Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse, multidisciplinary delivery environment.
n

Education
n
n
- Essential: Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business, Project Management or a related technical discipline.
n
- Preferred: Formal qualifications in project controls, scheduling, cost engineering, or project management (e.g., PMI, AACEI).
