Homes & Granny Flats is growing rapidly, and we're opening a new manufacturing facility in Wetherill Park to support our expanding modular residential construction business.

We are looking for an experienced Factory Manager who knows steel framing, understands production and can take genuine ownership of the factory operation.

This is not a role for someone who simply wants to supervise a production line.

We're looking for someone who can lead people, manage production, solve problems and make sure the factory delivers quality work on time.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the factory, working closely with the drafting, estimating, project management and installation teams.

You'll take ownership of production planning, labour allocation, quality, materials, workflow and delivery schedules.

As this is a new facility, you'll also have the opportunity to help establish the systems, processes and culture that will underpin the factory as the business grows.

What You'll Be Doing

Production & Factory Management

- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Wetherill Park factory.
- Plan production schedules and allocate labour to meet project deadlines.
- Coordinate the manufacturing of steel frames and roof trusses.
- Review drawings and jobs before production commences.
- Monitor workflow, productivity and production targets.
- Ensure materials, hardware and equipment are available when required.
- Identify bottlenecks and resolve production issues quickly.

Quality & Efficiency





- Maintain consistently high standards of workmanship and quality control.
- Minimise rework, material wastage and unnecessary labour costs.
- Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Work with project and installation teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Ensure finished products are ready for delivery and installation as scheduled.

People & Leadership

- Lead, mentor and develop the factory team.
- Set explicit expectations around productivity, quality and safety.
- Create a positive, accountable and hardworking team culture.
- Manage day-to-day performance and address issues when they arise.
- Build a team that takes pride in its work and wants to get the job done right.

Safety & Compliance

- Maintain a safe and well-organised factory environment.
- Ensure WHS procedures and safe working practices are followed.
- Monitor plant, equipment and manufacturing processes for safety and compliance.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the production team.

About You We're looking for an experienced steel carpenter, production manager, factory manager or senior supervisor who is ready to take ownership of a growing modular granny flat manufacturing operation.

You'll ideally have

- Significant experience working with steel frames and trusses.
- Strong residential construction or manufacturing experience.




- Experience managing a factory, production team or similar operation.
- Ability to read and understand architectural plans and shop drawings.
- Experience with machinery and modern manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling and workflow.
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills and a practical, hands-on approach to management.
