Filtration/Protein Fractionation Technician

Selborne Biological Services (Aust) Pty Ltd, is a privately owned biotechnology company based in Longford Tasmania, supplying animal-derived biological products worldwide.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Filtration/Protein Fractionation Technician to join our small team. Initially this is a casual position with the opportunity for the right person to progress to Permanent Full-time. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail. a passion for this field of work, and commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain a clean and organised work area

- Conduct filtrations and extraction and purification processes, including cleaning duties, all of which are to be carried out according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

- Operate and maintain filtration, filling, and related equipment

- Follow strict hygiene, safety, and quality and control guidelines

- Accurately complete batch records and production documentation

- Assist with inventory stock control, and general laboratory tasks

- Able to lift up to 20 kg

What We're Looking for:





- No previous experience required, although exposure to production environments operating under quality systems such as GMP is an advantage. Comprehensive training will be provided.

- Experience in a laboratory, pharmaceutical, chemical or food production environment (preferred but not essential)

- Ability to follow procedures with accuracy and consistency

- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn

- Sound communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

- High attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and measurement

- Ability to work flexibly with a team, including varied hours and availability for morning, afternoon, and night shifts to meet production schedules.

- A forklift licence is advantageous but not essential

- Must pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol test

- Valid Australian work rights or appropriate work visa required
