About the role
We're looking for an experienced Finance & Payroll Officer to join our Finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller. This is a hands-on, diverse role covering end-to-end payroll alongside core finance functions including accounts payable, bank reconciliations and month-end support. You'll be the go-to person for payroll queries and play a key role in keeping our financial records accurate and up to date.
Key responsibilities
- Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll accurately and on time
- Manage new starters, terminations and payroll changes
- Maintain payroll records and respond to payroll-related enquiries from staff and management
- Match supplier invoices to purchase orders, process payments and maintain supplier accounts
- Complete daily bank reconciliations and monitor accounts receivable
- Prepare month-end journals and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Maintain the fixed asset register and support monthly stocktake reconciliation
- Assist with the preparation of management reports
About you
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing, with a sound understanding of PAYG, superannuation and the National Employment Standards
- Proven finance/accounts experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger reconciliation
- Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas
- Excellent numeracy, attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
- A confident communicator, comfortable liaising with staff, management and suppliers
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently
- A positive, proactive and team-focused approach
