FINANCE MANAGER | 6 MONTH FTC | IMMEDIATE START | $140-$150k+ | SYDNEY THE COMPANY

Highbury has partnered with a well-established Australian FMCG business to find an experienced, hands-on Finance Manager to run point on the finance function.

This role suits someone who genuinely enjoys being in the detail, owning reporting, compliance and controls, while working closely with leadership to shape better systems and ways of working across the business.

Please note: given the immediate start date, only candidates available on short notice can be considered for this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, your responsibilities will include:

- Own the month-end close, delivering accurate and timely reporting across the business
- Prepare management accounts, board packs and commercial analysis that inform real decisions
- Handle tax compliance end-to-end, BAS, FBT, payroll tax, income tax, liaising with external advisers as needed
- Act as the key contact for external auditors and lead the year-end audit through to completion
- Keep financial controls tight and the balance sheet clean, with an eye for ongoing process improvement
- Drive finance transformation work, think automation, ERP upgrades,



and embedding best-practice controls
- Work alongside operational leaders on budgeting, forecasting and day-to-day commercial guidance

REQUIREMENTS

- CA/CPA qualified, with 3-4+ years in a Finance Manager or Senior Financial Accountant role, ideally within FMCG, manufacturing or any high-growth setting
- Solid technical grounding across month-end, reporting, tax and statutory compliance, this is a hands-on role, not just oversight
- Track record of leading year-end audits and building out strong financial controls
- Naturally commercial, with a bias toward spotting and fixing process gaps rather than waiting to be asked
- A confident communicator and people leader who can partner across the business while still rolling up their sleeves when needed
- Experience with inventory or stock management processes highly regarded
