Wangarang is a purpose‑driven, not-for-profit organisation providing meaningful employment and support services for people with disabilities. We are seeking an experienced and values‑driven Finance Manager to lead our finance function and support organisational sustainability.
This is a genuinely hands-on role that combines finance leadership with direct responsibility for day-to-day financial operations, including payroll processing, accounts management, reporting and budgeting. It is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys both strategic financial management and rolling up their sleeves to ensure operational excellence.
About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the Finance Manager oversees all financial operations at Wangarang and leads and works alongside a small finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring strong financial governance, compliance, reporting, and providing high-quality financial advice to the CEO and Executive Team.
This is a working Finance Manager position. While you will contribute to organisational strategy and prepare Board-level reporting, you will also remain closely involved in operational finance activities, including month-end processes, payroll processing, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, NDIS revenue management, and financial reporting.
You will play a key role in supporting Wangarang's financial sustainability while helping managers and leaders make informed business decisions.

About You
Essential
- Demonstrated experience managing and personally undertaking finance operations within a medium-sized organisation.
- Strong accounting expertise, including budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, general ledger management and month-end processes.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational responsibilities, which includes both data processing and manual posting.
- High proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Experience supervising staff (supported employment experience desirable).
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
Desirable
- Experience in NDIS, disability services, community services or similar funding environments.
- Understanding of NDIS Pricing Arrangements and compliance frameworks.
- Experience preparing reports for Boards or working within governance structures.
- CPA or CA qualification (working towards or achieved).
Mandatory Requirements
- Current driver’s licence.
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Working With Children Check.
