The Team You'll Be Joining The Finance team supports EML's global payments operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, solid internal controls, and adherence to statutory and accounting requirements. The team partners closely with Commercial, Operations, Client Success, Treasury, FP&A;, and Technology teams across multiple regions to support business growth while maintaining financial discipline and governance.

This role, which sits within the Australia and North America Financial Control team, will provide operational finance support across customer requests, revenue and billing processes, payroll, month-end close activities, and broader finance operations.

The Role The Financial Accountant is responsible for supporting key finance processes across primarily North America (with some Australia support), ensuring operational finance activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with internal controls.

The role will act as a primary contact for finance-related customer and Jira requests, support month-end close processes, assist with revenue, assist manage accounts receivable and payroll processes, contribute to cash flow reporting activities, and provide general support to the Financial Control team.

Working closely with Senior Financial Accountants and the broader business, the role provides an opportunity to gain exposure across commercial finance, operational finance, financial control, treasury, and revenue accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Requests & Jira Management

- Act as key finance contact for customer and operational finance queries received through Jira and other request channels.
- Manage and monitor finance-related Jira tickets to ensure requests are actioned within agreed service levels.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce recurring customer issues and improve service delivery.

Revenue Support & Accounts Receivable

- Support the Finance Officers with end-to-end AR processes including invoicing, credit notes, allocations, and collections.
- Monitor aged receivables and actively manage overdue balances through customer engagement and follow-up.



Support the Senior Financial Accountant with revenue calculations, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
- Assist Senior Financial Accountant with contract review and revenue-related projects as required.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve billing disputes and customer queries in a timely manner.
- Prepare regular AR reporting, including debtor ageing, cash collection status, and risk items for management.
- Ensure customer accounts are accurately maintained in NetSuite and related billing systems.

Month-End Close Support

- Support month-end and year-end close processes across North America and Australia.
- Prepare journals, supporting schedules, and reconciliations for assigned accounting areas.
- Assist in maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and investigating reconciling items.
- Ensure accounting documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Assist with process improvements that enhance efficiency and control throughout the close process.

Payroll (North America)

- Review and process payroll for US entity.
- Ensure payroll transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
- Liaise with People & Culture and external providers to resolve payroll queries and discrepancies.
- Prepare payroll-related statutory obligations for review and sign-off by the Financial Controller.

Cash Flow & Treasury Support

- Assist with preparation and maintenance of cash flow reporting.
- Assist with recording, categorising, and validating cash movements.
- Support bank account administration and treasury-related documentation.

General Finance Operations

- Assist in preparation of audit information and supporting documentation.
- Maintain finance process documentation and operating procedures.
- Support finance transformation, system enhancement,



and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide assistance across the finance team during peak reporting periods and project activities.

Skills & Experience

- 2–4 years' experience within Financial Accounting, Assistant Accounting, Audit, or a similar finance role.
- Good understanding of accounting fundamentals, including journals, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
- Experience working with financial systems and ERP platforms, with NetSuite highly regarded.
- Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and reconciliations.
- Exposure to revenue accounting, accounts receivable, payroll ,or financial control activities is desirable.
- Experience using reconciliation or workflow tools such as BlackLine or Jira will be highly regarded.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Experience and Education Level

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Commenced or intending to commence CA or CPA studies preferred.
- Relevant accounting or finance experience in a corporate environment desirable.
