As our Clinical Nurse Consultant for Palliative Care, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of exemplary care. Your responsibilities will include:
n

- Providing advanced clinical consultation and expert advice to nursing staff, medical teams, and allied health professionals on all aspects of palliative care.
n
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based palliative care policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines.
n
- Leading and participating in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex palliative care needs.
n
- Acting as a key resource for education and professional development for staff, enhancing their knowledge and skills in palliative care.
n
- Facilitating multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to collaborative care planning.
n
- Advocating for patients and their families, ensuring their choices, values, and cultural needs are respected throughout their care journey.
n
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and research activities within palliative care.
n
- Mentoring and supporting nursing staff,
fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
n
- Liaising with community palliative care services to ensure seamless transitions of care.
n

About You
n
We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Consultant who demonstrates:
n
n
- Exceptional clinical expertise and a deep understanding of palliative care principles and practices.
n
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
n
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, enabling effective engagement with patients, families, and colleagues.
n
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient and family care.
n
- The ability to think critically, problem-solve complex clinical scenarios, and make sound clinical judgements.
n
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
n
- Experience in developing and delivering education and training programs.
n
- Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
n
- Postgraduate qualification in Palliative Care, or working towards same, or extensive experience in a dedicated palliative care role.
n
- Minimum five years post-graduate experience,
with at least three years in a senior clinical role within palliative care.
n
- Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and formulate care plans for complex palliative care patients.
n
- Experience in leadership, education, and quality improvement activities.
n
