About the role

n

The Finance Analyst is responsible for preparation and planning of the annual budget cycle, quarterly reforecasts, monthly management reporting, and components of half and full-year external reporting for AGL Energy and Customer Markets. This is a 12‐month maximum‐term contract based in Melbourne.

n

What you'll be doing

n

n
- Prepare month‐end FP&A; reports, including monthly management reports, cash flow analysis, opex review, risk and opportunities review, and capex project reports.
n
- Assist with coordination and delivery of the annual budget, four‐year plan, and quarterly forecasts.
n
- Identify and drive initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting and reporting tools, processes and improve the reporting of financial information to management.
n
- Assist with preparation of half‐year and full‐year reporting requirements for external stakeholders, including the Directors' Report,



Investor Pack and supplementary data and analysis.
n
- Assist in analysing progress towards market targets and initiatives.
n
- Assist with preparation and analysis of finance regulatory enquiries and data requests.
n
- Provide specialist input to support key finance and business initiatives.
n
- Add value by acting with key stakeholders' interest in mind, establishing and maintaining effective relationships, gaining trust and respect.
n
- Assist the broader FP&A; team on an as‐required basis.

What you'll bring to the table

n

n
- Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce or economics. CPA/CA qualified.
n
- Minimum 4 years' experience in analytical roles.
n
- Experience providing financial analysis support to business management.
n
- Commercial acumen to understand dynamics of a complex industry.
n
- Ability to understand, utilize and improve sophisticated accounting and reporting systems.
n
- Strong analysis for Office / SAP experience.
n
- High level analytical and problem‐solving skills, including ability to analyse complex problems, identify issues, think laterally and apply analytical, qualitative and research techniques.
n
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills,



able to convey complex financial concepts to a wider audience / stakeholder group.
