About the role
As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you will be trained and engaged in food and beverage services. You will develop your mastery across the hotel receiving and delivering food orders both within the restaurant, bar, room service and conference and events. You will be on a rotating roster to ensure you continue to build on knowledge and skills in all areas and meet the needs of our guests and business. You will be devoted to creating memorable experiences throughout guests' hotel experience.
Key responsibilities
- Greeting, seating and serving guests in the restaurant and bar, making beverages, attending to clean and replenish tables to Holiday Inn's brand standard
- Taking and delivering Room Service orders, setting up and packing down of events, delivering amenity requests prior to guest arrival via room service
- Ensuring the security and proper storage of floats, guest property, food and beverage products, inventory and equipment, and replenishing supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste
- Ensuring that all food and beverage facilities and equipment including banquet spaces are cleaned, vacuumed, and properly stocked according to anticipated business volume
- Maintaining knowledge and awareness by adhering to Responsible Service of Alcohol and Liquor License Victoria regulations
- Assisting to maintain a clean setting on the restaurant and bar floor as well as banqueting, trolleys etc.
- Highlighting promotions to guests and maximising up-selling and suggestive selling opportunities across each guest's stay
- Pro-actively approaching guests in the open hotel lobby and business centre to offer food and beverage offerings
- Resolving guest issues and ensuring they leave having had an exceptional stay
- Reporting any maintenance needs, risks, hazards,
incidents or near misses to appropriate personnel
About you
- Previous experience in a Restaurant, Bars, Conference and Events or related position is highly regarded
- Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification is a mandatory compliance requirement
- Computer system savvy with experience using a point of sale system (Infosays) or other similar relatable systems
- Flexible attitude to shifts including early mornings starting at 6.30am, late nights finishing at 1 or 2am, weekends and public holidays
- Excellent communication skills with bilingual or multilingual language skills advantageous and full comprehension understanding and speaking in English language
- Literacy skills including reading, writing and basic maths skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritise your own workload and help colleagues as needed
- Fitness and strength to be on your feet most of the day with manual handling involved at times, bending and kneeling to complete activities such as cleaning. Ability to lift, push and pull objects up to 23 kg
- Excellent presentation with smart appearance, correct uniform and name badge worn with pride, adhering to grooming and presentation standards policy
- Passionate about guest services and creating moments of delight, with ability to work meticulously organised with exceptional attention to detail
