About the role

- $27.77 – $30.54 base rate (DOE) + Penalty rates for weekends and public holidays, plus 12% superannuation.

As a Food Service Officer, you will work as part of a supportive hospitality team to assist with meal service. You will help set up dining areas, serve meals and beverages, clean kitchen and service areas, follow food safety procedures, and contribute to a warm and respectful dining experience for residents.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare, present, serve and deliver meals, snacks and refreshments in line with resident dietary requirements and preferences.
- Set up and clear dining rooms, serveries and meal trolleys for each service period.
- Support basic food preparation, plating and portion control under direction.
- Maintain clean, safe and organised kitchen, dining and food service areas.
- Wash dishes, utensils, trays and equipment using approved procedures.
- Follow the Food Safety Program, including temperature checks, cleaning schedules, stock rotation and protected food handling practices.
- Communicate respectfully with residents, families and team members to support a positive mealtime experience.
- Report hazards, maintenance issues, food service concerns or resident feedback to the relevant supervisor.

About you

- Previous experience in food services, catering, hospitality, kitchen hand work or aged care is desirable.
- Knowledge of safe food handling, infection control and hygiene practices.
- A friendly, respectful and compassionate approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to follow procedures, prioritise tasks and maintain attention to detail in a busy environment.
- Willingness to complete required training and comply with organisational policies and aged care standards.
- Ability to complete pre-employment medical, NDIS, and National Police Check
