Blue Edge Bakery is a family owned and operated business that provides fresh bread and bakery offerings 7 days per week (closed 25,26 December) to the local Bicheno community, and beyond. We have a strong cafe and coffee trade which compliments the bakery side of things. We also have a healthy and growing wholesale trade to many restaurants, cafes and hotels. This is also very important to us.

All-rounder position available - Hospitality/cooking/coffee making background an advantage but not essential.

Bicheno is a beautiful town on the spectacular east coast of Tasmania, cradled between Douglas-Apsley National Park and Freycinet National Park. It is a firm favorite with most Tasmanians, both as a family friendly destination and for those seeking a slower pace or sea change.

Accommodation is not provided. However, we have good local contacts to give you a helping hand.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Greeting customers warmly and providing friendly, attentive service at the counter
2. Processing customer transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system
3. Displaying and promoting our bakery products in an appealing and hygienic manner
4. Handling cash and card payments, ensuring accuracy and security at all times
5. Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming retail environment
6. Assisting customers with product selection and answering questions about our offerings
7. Restocking shelves and displays throughout the day
8.



Supporting the preparation and presentation of bakery items for sale
9. Following food safety and health and hygiene protocols

What we're looking for:

- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
- Strong communication abilities and a genuine passion for helping customers
- Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to consistent attendance
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic numeracy skills and competence with handling cash and electronic transactions
- A keen eye for detail and pride in maintaining a tidy, skilled workspace
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings and weekends as required
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy items
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures
- Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable
