Clinical Coder/ Health Information Manager

We are currently recruiting for aClinical Coder/Health Information Managerto join our team. Reporting to the Health Information Services Manager, the role will be responsible for timely and accurate clinical coding for The Bays Hospital in accordance with all relevant legislation and standards.

We are looking for a motivated individual with relevant qualifications and at least 2 years’ experience who is committed to continuing professional development and learning.

This is apermanent part-time role of 45 hours per fortnight,and we can offer flexibility with hours/days. The role is based on site at The Bays Hospital on Main Street, Mornington.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accurately and efficiently code medical records in accordance with Australian Coding Standards, relevant legislation and organisational requirements.

Review clinical documentation and liaise with clinicians to ensure the accuracy, completeness and quality of coded health information.

Participate in clinical coding audits, identify and correct errors or non-conformances, and maintain required coding quality and productivity standards.

Complete clinical data reporting, cancer registrations, end-of-month activities and other Health Information Services requirements within established timeframes.

Contribute to continuous improvement, professional development and education activities, while maintaining the confidentiality, privacy and integrity of patient and organisational information.

ABOUT YOU:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills,



experience and attributes:

A recognised Clinical Coding/ Health Information Management qualification

Recent relevant experience of at least 2 years duration within a similar role with varied case mix

A high level of communication and interpersonal skills

Exceptional attention to detail and customer service

Excellent communication and time management skills
