At NTI, our Assessing team plays a critical role in helping customers get back on the road safely and efficiently when they need us most. As a Desktop Assessor, you'll apply your technical expertise to assess repairs, manage costs without compromising quality, and deliver positive outcomes for customers, repairers and claims teams alike.

The opportunity
n
Reporting to the State Assessing Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering timely, accurate and commercially sound assessments while effectively managing customer expectations. Your responsibilities will include:
n
Complete desktop assessments for insured and third‐party claims.
n
Support fair and reasonable settlement outcomes while maintaining quality standards.
n
Negotiate assessment outcomes with customers, repairers and external stakeholders.
n
Investigate accident circumstances and determine likely causes of damage.
n
Determine appropriate repair methods and identify required parts.
n
Review towing and recovery processes and associated costs.
n
Prepare expert reports and assessment documentation.
n
Issue repair authorities to repair partners.
n
Review and process payment recommendations for claims teams.
n
Support on‐road assessments when required by the State Assessing Manager.
n
Are you the Assessor we are looking for?
n
We're looking for a proactive and solutions‐focused professional who can confidently balance technical expertise with strong stakeholder management skills.
n
3‐5 years' experience in smash repairs, heavy vehicle or related automotive environments.
n
Strong understanding of vehicle repair practices and estimating principles.
n
Computer literacy skills, including email, Microsoft Word and the ability to learn current software systems.
n
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
n
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
n
A customer‐focused mindset and commitment to quality outcomes.
