About the business The Paringa Hotel Motel is a family owned and operated country hotel located in Paringa, South Australia (near Renmark) in the Riverland region. We are only 3 hours from Adelaide and 1.5 hours from Mildura (Victoria). We operate an a la carte bistro (lunch and dinner only) providing friendly country hospitality together with delicious classic pub meals.

About the role The successful applicant must be willing to work alongside passionate hands-on owners to contribute towards the growth and success of the business.

You will contribute to the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, menu planning, meal preparation and presentation, food cost, ordering, cleaning, stock control, portion control, productivity, and wastage.

Flexible availability over 7 days is required. A great work/life balance is possible with an average working week of only 38 hours.

Requirements

1. Relevant qualifications and experience in a la carte bistro or restaurant environment
2. A quality driven approach to food/meal preparation and presentation in a timely manner
3.



Knowledge to ensure kitchen compliance with relevant food safety and OHS requirements
4. Ability to prepare and present a wide variety of meals and skilled in various forms of cooking
5. Strong financial acumen to be able to manage food costs, and develop strategies and systems to reduce expenses and wastage
6. A flexible approach in adapting to guest requests
7. Ability to effectively manage stock levels
8. Ability to effectively work both unsupervised and in a team environment with excellent communication and organisational skills
9. A qualified approach to their work and fellow team members
