Role : Functional Test Lead – Retail Domain

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Functional Test Lead with strong hands-on functional testing expertise and proven Retail domain experience . The candidate will lead end-to-end testing activities, drive test planning and execution, manage defects, and work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end functional testing activities across retail applications and business processes.
- Analyse business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- Define test strategy, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data .
- Lead SIT, UAT, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Validate retail business processes including POS, sales, returns, pricing, promotions, inventory, orders, payments, loyalty, and store operations .
- Coordinate testing across multiple applications and system integrations.
- Review test cases and ensure adequate functional and business-process coverage.
- Manage defect lifecycle, conduct defect triage, and work with development/business teams for resolution.
- Track test progress, risks, dependencies, defects,



and provide regular testing status reports.
- Support release readiness and provide quality/risk assessments to stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide QA team members and ensure adherence to testing standards.
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, test coverage, and testing methodologies.

Mandatory Skills

- 8+ years of overall software testing experience , with strong functional testing background.
- Proven experience as a Test Lead / Functional Test Lead .
- Strong Retail domain experience .
- Robust understanding of retail business processes such as:
- POS / Store Operations
- Sales & Returns
- Pricing & Promotions
- Inventory / Merchandising
- Order Management
- Payments
- Loyalty
- E-commerce / Omnichannel
- Strong experience in SIT, UAT, Regression, Integration and E2E testing .
- Strong test planning, test case design, execution, defect management, and reporting skills.
- Experience with JIRA / Azure DevOps / ALM or similar test management tools.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum, SDLC and STLC .
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
