As General Manager Accounting and Transactional Services , you will play a pivotal role in leading RAC’s finance capability, partnering with senior leaders and helping shape the organisation’s financial future.
This is a significant leadership opportunity for an experienced finance executive who can balance strong financial governance and control with commercial thinking, transformation and strategic advice.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and leading a large team, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality financial management, governance, planning and reporting across RAC.
Day to day, you will:
- Lead financial management, reporting and governance , ensuring accurate, timely and insightful financial information, solid financial controls, statutory reporting, accounting policies, audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Drive planning and performance , leading Group budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning, while providing data-driven insights, scenario modelling and strategic financial advice to support executive and Board decision-making.
- Provide commercial and strategic leadership , advising senior leaders on business performance, investment opportunities, cost management, capital allocation and financial risk.
- Lead finance transformation , leveraging automation, digital enablement, AI and improved systems and processes to build a more efficient, effective and future-ready finance function.
- Lead enterprise investment and transaction activity , including capital allocation, investment governance and financial support for mergers, acquisitions, divestments and strategic partnerships.
- Partner across the organisation ,
working closely with Corporate Services, Strategy, Risk, Legal, Governance and business leaders to navigate complexity and deliver sustainable enterprise outcomes.
- Build a high-performing finance team , strengthening capability, performance, collaboration and accountability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support the CFO and broader Finance leadership team across treasury, liquidity, cash flow, funding, capital management, taxation and related financial governance .
What you will bring: We are looking for a senior finance leader with the breadth, commercial acumen and strategic mindset to operate effectively across a large and complex organisation.
You will bring
- Extensive senior finance leadership experience within a large, complex, customer or member-focused organisation .
- Deep experience across financial control, management and statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
- Proven experience providing commercial and strategic financial advice to executive leaders, Boards and senior governance forums.
- Significant experience leading and developing high-performing teams and building trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience driving finance transformation, systems uplift, process improvement and modern finance initiatives ,
including digital and data-led solutions.
- Experience supporting complex corporate transactions, including M&A;, divestments, due diligence, financial modelling, integration and benefits realisation .
- Strong understanding of treasury, liquidity, cash flow, funding, capital management and financial risk , together with taxation governance and compliance.
- Exceptional financial modelling, scenario analysis, investment assessment and business case capability.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, strategic and actionable advice .
- The ability to influence at senior levels, navigate ambiguity and provide clear recommendations in complex environments.
You’ll hold tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, commerce, business or a related discipline , together with membership of a relevant professional body such as CA, CPA or equivalent . Postgraduate qualifications in finance, business, strategy or leadership would be desirable.
