About the Role
n
People & Culture Manager at King Kong, a fast‐growing full‐service digital marketing agency. The role includes full ownership of the people function, one direct report (People & Culture Lead), and responsibilities for recruitment, employee relations, onboarding/off‐boarding, performance management, policy, compliance, payroll reporting, staff events, and coaching of the management team.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as trusted advisor and partner to leaders, providing expert advice across the employee lifecycle.
n
- Ensure the company meets all compliance standards.
n
- Drive initiatives that engage, retain, and develop talent.
n
- Own and evolve the HR system (BambooHR, HR drive, policy documents) to keep information accurate and actively used.
n
- Manage full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
n
- Conduct structured coaching and training for managers on difficult conversations, goal setting, performance management, and career pathways.
n
- Identify capability gaps, design and implement targeted training programs.
n
- Provide reporting and feedback on People & Culture strategies to senior leadership.
n
- Lead fortnightly payroll reporting to external partners (new starters, terminations, salary changes, leave).
n
- Mentor and develop the People & Culture Lead.
n
- Coordinate staff events and activities that reinforce culture.
n

Requirements
n
n
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
n
- Minimum 4 years of HR experience, with at least 1–2 years independently managing the full HR lifecycle.
n
- Proven recruitment experience.
n
- Demonstrated coaching or people‐leadership experience, including the ability to challenge managers when necessary.
n
- Excellent communication and relationship‐building skills with a capacity to influence stakeholders.
n
- Working knowledge of legal requirements relevant to employee relations.
n
- Confidence in conducting and coaching managers through employee‐lifecycle conversations.
n
- Solution‐focused mindset and strong organisational and time‐management skills.
n
- Experience with fortnightly payroll reporting to an external provider and attention to detail.
n
- Pragmatic, commercially minded approach to protecting the business without over‐complicating processes.
n
- Experience in a fast‐paced, tech‐industry environment is an advantage.
