This is a hands-on Station Manager opportunity overseeing both cattle and cropping on a well-established Central Queensland mixed farming operation, with autonomy, quality equipment and long-term security on offer.

Situated in the heart of the Dawson Valley, one of Central Queensland's most productive cattle and cropping regions, this location offers the best of rural living. With Moura providing essential services, schooling and community facilities, and Rockhampton just 2.5 hours away, this well-established family-owned mixed farming enterprise is located approximately 60km west of Moura.
The operation combines a productive dryland cropping program with a quality Charolais x Simmental cattle herd, currently running around 500 head and transitioning towards a greater focus on dry cattle. The property is well set up with modern steel cattle yards, solar-equipped watering systems, quality silo infrastructure and a reliable fleet of John Deere machinery fitted with GreenStar GPS technology. Cropping operations include end-to-end production activities from planting through to harvest, supported by modern equipment and well-maintained infrastructure.
Reporting directly to the owners, this full time position would suit either an experienced manager or a capable leading hand, overseer or senior farm employee ready to step into their first management role. The successful applicant will be practical, trustworthy,
self-motivated and comfortable working independently while maintaining regular communication with off-site owners. An immediate start is available, although commencement timing can be negotiated for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Oversee and participate in day-to-day operations across both cattle and cropping enterprises.
- Conduct cattle handling activities including mustering, drafting, processing and animal health treatments.
- Perform all aspects of dryland cropping operations including planting, spraying, crop monitoring and harvest.
- Operate and maintain a range of modern machinery including tractors, sprayers, headers, dozers and support equipment.
- Carry out fencing, infrastructure maintenance and general property improvement projects.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience across both livestock and broadacre cropping operations.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership of daily operations.
- Experience operating modern agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to report directly to off-site owners.
- Current driver's licence essential; ChemCert and spraying experience highly regarded.
