Role Overview
n
The Corporate Finance team provides mergers & acquisitions advisory, debt advisory and transaction support to multinational corporates, private equity firms, financial institutions, and private companies and boards across multiple sectors. We are expanding our M&A; capabilities and seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead and grow our Corporate Finance practice.

- Senior Manager based in Sydney.
n
- Lead and manage M&A; engagements end‐to‐end, from transaction sourcing through to deal completion.
n
- Drive client relationships and build trusted adviser relationships with corporates and private equity sponsors.
n
- Lead and mentor a growing M&A; team, setting quality standards and developing junior talent.
n

How You Will Contribute
n
Engagement Leadership & Delivery
n
n
- Lead complex M&A; engagements end‐to‐end, owning workstreams and taking responsibility for quality of output and client satisfaction.
n
- Serve as primary client contact on active transactions, building and maintaining trusted adviser relationships with corporates, PE sponsors, and boards.
n
- Design analytical approaches to complex transaction problems, including valuation, synergy identification, integration planning, and risk mitigation.
n
- Develop and deliver defensible, high‐impact transaction recommendations and supporting documentation.
n
- Manage delivery timelines and resources to meet deal deadlines in fast‐paced transaction environments.
n

Business Development & Client Management
n
n
- Assist in the origination and development of relationships with corporate clients, private equity firms and other key referral sources.
n
- Proactively contribute to the pursuit of new transaction opportunities across the broader A&M; platform.
n
- Take the lead in drafting proposals, pitches, and thought leadership, positioning A&M;'s M&A; capabilities in the market.
n
- Build and sustain a solid professional network in the M&A; and corporate finance market.
n
- Drive cross‐service line relationships to create integrated advisory solutions for clients.
n

Team Leadership & Development
n
n
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of M&A; professionals, fostering a high‐performance culture.
n
- Direct the work of mid‐level and junior team members, providing guidance, quality review, and professional development support.
n
- Contribute to recruitment, training,
and knowledge‐sharing initiatives across the practice.
n
- Support practice management including resourcing, capacity planning, and quality oversight.
n
- Model commercial acumen and integrity in all client and team interactions.
n

Qualifications & Experience
n
n
- 6+ years of hands‐on M&A; advisory experience, gained in investment banking, consulting, private equity, or corporate finance roles.
n
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline; CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
n
- Demonstrated track record of successfully leading transactions from commencement through completion.
n
- Strong experience in financial analysis, valuation, modelling, and transaction structuring.
n
- Proven ability to manage teams, develop junior talent, and drive a high‐performance culture.
n
- Demonstrated business development capability through network of relationships.
n
- High‐level Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills; proficiency with financial modelling tools and data analytics.
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing board‐level presentations, investment memoranda, and client reports.
n
- Collaborative leader with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and service lines.
