Role Description The Genetic Counsellor will provide advanced genetic counselling services to individuals and families. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the role includes developing and implementing clinical care and contributing to service development,
education for colleagues and community stakeholders, participation in quality improvement initiatives, and supervision.
Requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in Genetic Counselling
- Certification (FHGSA)
- Extensive clinical experience in genetic counselling
- Robust skills in patient-centered communication, psychosocial support, and culturally safe practice.
- Ability to contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Skills in mentoring, clinical supervision, or leadership of junior staff and students.
- Comfort working with electronic medical records and digital health tools.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to ethical, legal, and privacy standards in healthcare.
