Build a growth engine around ideas worth paying attention to

Our client is looking for a hands-on Growth Marketing Manager to build a new authority-led growth engine from the ground up. This is not a role where you will inherit a mature funnel, a large marketing team and years of campaign data. You will help define the approach, test what works and build the systems that turn strong ideas into qualified commercial opportunities.

Our client works with senior leaders and executive teams across complex organisations around the world. Through that work, the business has developed original data, deep expertise and a clear point of view on what helps leadership teams perform well.

That insight is now being turned into serious, data-backed books and thought leadership.

The substance already exists.

Your job is to make sure it reaches the right people, earns their attention and gives them a compelling reason to continue the conversation.

About the business

Our client is a growing Melbourne-founded technology company operating in the leadership and performance space. Its platform helps senior decision-makers understand where their organisation or leadership team needs to be, where it is today and how to close the gap in a practical and repeatable way.

The business works with major listed companies, government, private sector and not-for-profit organisations across Australia and international markets.

Since launching in 2019, it has built strong market credibility, an increasingly global client base and a sophisticated product that supports leaders making decisions at the highest levels of organisations.

The company is now entering an important stage of growth, with ambitious international plans and a strong focus on building a more scalable commercial engine.

The opportunity

This business operates in a market where trust matters more than marketing noise. Its audience is experienced, time-poor and heavily marketed to. Generic content, inflated claims and predictable nurture sequences are unlikely to cut through.

Their attention needs to be earned.

The growth strategy begins with authority. The business is developing data-backed books and thought leadership based on proprietary analysis and deep subject-matter expertise. These assets are designed to reach senior leaders with ideas that are useful, credible and worth their time.

You will build the growth engine around them.

You will own the journey from the first campaign impression through to a qualified commercial opportunity. That includes audience strategy, paid acquisition, landing pages, conversion, nurture, marketing automation and reporting.

You will work closely with commercial and account teams to understand which contacts are genuinely engaged, when a relationship is ready to progress and how marketing can contribute to meaningful pipeline.

This is a broad role, but it is not a catch-all marketing position. Your focus is building a disciplined and measurable growth engine that connects strong thinking with the people most likely to value it.

What you will be doing

You will:

- Take the business’s first major authority-led campaign to market

- Develop campaign positioning, messaging and audience strategy
- Write advertisements, landing pages, emails and nurture content for a senior audience
- Plan and manage paid search and digital placement activity
- Build landing pages and improve website conversion
- Create lead capture and nurture journeys
- Segment audiences by market, seniority, behaviour and commercial relevance
- Build pathways for engaged contacts into the organisation’s broader executive community
- Work with commercial teams to identify qualified opportunities
- Improve marketing automation and CRM workflows
- Test new acquisition channels, audiences and campaign approaches
- Track cost per lead, lead quality, conversion and influenced pipeline
- Build reporting that clearly shows what is working and what needs to change
- Use AI to develop and improve marketing assets while maintaining a high standard of quality
- Identify when agency, creative or technical support is needed
- Build a repeatable model that can support future campaigns, audiences and international markets

What your first six months will look like

Your first six months will centre on launching the first major authority campaign and establishing the foundations of the growth function.

You will

- Develop the go-to-market strategy for the first major thought-leadership asset
- Define the priority audience, positioning and campaign message
- Create the landing pages, lead capture and nurture journey
- Launch paid acquisition across priority channels
- Establish tracking, attribution and reporting
- Build pathways for ongoing executive engagement
- Create clear marketing and commercial handover points
- Begin generating and qualifying senior contacts
- Identify which audiences, messages and channels are producing meaningful engagement
- Develop a clear roadmap for the next stage of growth

You will not be expected to arrive with every answer. You will be expected to ask good questions, test your thinking and take responsibility for what happens next.

What we are looking for

This role will suit a growth marketer who can think strategically and still enjoys doing the work. You may currently work in B2B technology, SaaS, professional services, consulting, financial services or an agency environment. Your title matters less than the campaigns, systems and commercial outcomes you have helped create.

You will ideally bring

- Hands-on experience in growth marketing, demand generation or performance marketing
- A track record of delivering B2B campaigns from strategy through to execution
- Strong paid search and digital advertising capability
- Experience building landing pages and improving conversion
- Confidence developing nurture journeys and marketing automation

- Robust marketing copywriting skills
- Experience with campaign analytics, attribution and reporting
- The ability to connect marketing activity with qualified pipeline
- A clear understanding of the difference between lead volume and lead value
- Confidence marketing to senior, discerning or specialised audiences
- Practical experience using AI as a marketing production and problem-solving tool
- Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail
- The ability to create structure where little currently exists
- The confidence to change direction when the evidence shows something is not working

You do not need to arrive as an expert in this industry. You do need the curiosity to understand what matters to senior decision-makers and the judgement to communicate with them credibly.

How success will be measured

Success will not be measured by how crowded the marketing calendar looks. It will be measured by the quality of the audience you reach and the commercial opportunities that follow.

Measures will include

- Quality leads generated across priority audiences
- Growth in the organisation’s executive community
- Lead-to-opportunity conversion
- Cost per lead and cost per qualified chance
- Performance of paid acquisition channels
- Landing page and website conversion

- Engagement with nurture journeys
- Marketing-influenced pipeline
- Clarity and reliability of campaign reporting
- Evidence that results are improving through testing and optimisation

Why join?

You will be joining a growing technology business with ambitious international plans, original material to take to market and a product designed to improve decision-making and leadership at the top of organisations. You will have genuine ownership of the work and the opportunity to shape how growth marketing operates as the company scales.

It is a rare combination for a marketer. You will have strong ideas to work with, a sophisticated audience to reach and the freedom to build the system that connects the two.

The business moves quickly, cares deeply about quality and gives people the space to test, learn and improve. This role will suit someone who enjoys building capability rather than simply maintaining what already exists.

Location and package

This is a Melbourne-based role with regular in-person collaboration. The team works flexibly, although being together in person will be important as you build the function and work closely with internal experts. The role will also require some flexibility across international time zones and may include occasional international travel for key meetings and events.

The package includes

- $120,000 to $140,000 plus superannuation
- A generous employee share option grant
- The opportunity to build a new growth capability during an important stage of the company’s expansion

Candidates must have full working rights in Australia.

This is your chance to build something that lasts

You will take original thinking, bring it to the right audience and create a growth engine that can become a meaningful part of the business’s next stage of growth.
