Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) – Acute Services

Lead Acute Services in a Supportive Rural Health Setting
n
We are currently recruiting for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join a well-established rural health service in beautiful East Gippsland, Victoria. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine hands‐on clinical practice with leadership while making a genuine difference to the local community.

Working across the Medical Ward and Emergency Department, you'll play a key role in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager, leading clinical teams, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high‐quality care.
n
About the Role
n
As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will:
n
n
- Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff across Acute Services.
n
- Coordinate daily patient flow, staffing and resource allocation.
n
- Support the operational management of the Medical Ward and Emergency Department.
n
- Deliver high‐quality, evidence‐based patient care.
n
- Mentor and develop nursing staff to promote clinical excellence.
n
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and patient safety outcomes.
n
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, accreditation and infection prevention standards.
n
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
n
- Act as Nurse Unit Manager when required.
n
n
About You
n
To be successful, you will have:
n
n
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
n
- Demonstrated experience in acute medical nursing.
n
- Emergency nursing experience is highly regarded.
n
- Previous leadership or acting leadership experience.
n
- Strong clinical assessment and decision‐making skills.
n
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
n
- A passion for mentoring staff and delivering exceptional patient care.
n
n
Highly Desirable
n
n
- Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing, Acute Care or a related specialty.
n
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
n
- Experience working within a rural or regional health service.
n
- Experience using electronic medical record systems.
n
n
