About the Persistent Pain Service
n
The Persistent Pain Service at the Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's only tertiary referral pain service and is accredited as a Level 1 training unit by the Faculty of Pain Medicine, ANZCA.
n
It operates within a multidisciplinary framework with specialists from neurosurgery, ENT, rheumatology, anaesthesia, general practice, psychiatry, pain nursing, physiotherapy, psychology and administrative staff.

Essential Requirements

- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (general or limited)
n
- Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration where applicable
n

Duties

- Day‐to‐day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients
n
- Provide after‐hours emergency cover as required
n

Salary
n
$138,978 – $194,675 per annum, consistent with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025.

Classification and Award
n
Medical Practitioner Level 5‐11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar).
n
Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
n
Period of Employment
n
Fixed‐term, full‐time day work: 76 hours per fortnight (+10 hours protected training time), commencing 1 February 2027 until 7 February 2028.
