About the Opportunity
n
Due to rapid business growth, we are expanding our Finance Team and are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join us.
n
The Financial Accountant is a key role responsible for accurate and timely reporting of financial information, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the organisation's financial integrity and supporting strategic financial decision‐making.

This is a full‐time onsite role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
n
Financial Reporting & Ledger Management
n
n
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
n
- Prepare and process efficient month‐end and year‐end financial closing processes.
n
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity.
n
- Assist in the preparation of core financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
n

Compliance & Regulation
n
n
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including the preparation and lodgement of GST, BAS, and payroll tax.
n
- Assist with external audits and contribute to the smooth execution of the annual audit process.
n
- Adhere to internal financial controls and recommend improvements to minimise risk.
n
n
Analysis & Business Support
n
n
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with data analysis and financial insights.
n
- Analyse variances between actual financial results and budget/forecast, providing clear commentary.
n
- Communicate financial information clearly to non‐financial stakeholders and operational managers.
n
n
Operations & Systems
n
n
- Support transactional finance functions, including payroll processing, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) where required.
n
- Assist in maintaining and optimizing financial systems and reporting tools.
n
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance‐related processes and procedures to drive efficiency.
n
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
n

Role Requirements
n
n
- Aged Care Industry Experience (Required): Proven, hands‐on experience working within the Aged Care sector, with a strong familiarity with Aged Care financial regulations, funding models, and compliance standards.
n
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
n
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of general ledger management, month‐end processes, statutory reporting (GST, BAS, payroll tax), and variance analysis. Proficiency in modern ERP systems (NetSuite, Xero, Sage) is highly desirable.
n
- Attributes: High attention to detail, self‐motivated, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a growing team.
n
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non‐financial stakeholders and operational managers.
