Azooa is currently responding to RFQTS LH-06316 and is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced professionals for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Unified Communications (Telephony & Videoconferencing) opportunity supporting the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

About the role
n
This role requires a senior‐level engineer with deep expertise in Unified Communications (UC) to support the design, implementation, optimisation, and operational management of secure telephony and videoconferencing solutions.
n
You'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing critical communications capability across DFAT's ICT environment, working closely with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure secure and reliable service delivery.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Support, configure, and deploy telephony and videoconferencing infrastructure
n
- Provide SME advice on secure Unified Communications solutions
n
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex UC issues in collaboration with the NOC
n
- Develop solution designs, SOPs, and As‐Built documentation
n
- Conduct validation and verification activities
n
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders across delivery and support functions
n
- Support proof‐of‐concept builds and innovation initiatives
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement across secure communications platforms
n
n
We're looking for professionals with strong experience managing Unified Communications environments, including voice, video, and VoIP technologies.
n
Technical Capability
n
n
- Strong experience in Unified Communications / Voice / VTC solution design and support
n
- 5+ years' experience with VoIP protocols, including SIP, RTP, SRTP, XMPP
n
- 5+ years' experience with relevant codecs, including G711, G729, H.264 / H.265
n
- Strong experience with Translation, Bridging, Cisco and collaboration technology
n
- Demonstrated experience with Cisco UC technologies, including CUCM / Call Manager, Expressway, CMS / CMM, Telepresence / Webex endpoints
n
- Experience with Microsoft Teams / Direct Routing, Session Border Controllers (SBCs) such as AudioCodes, Ribbon, or CUBE
n
n
Security & Delivery Capability
n
n
- Strong understanding of the ASD Essential 8 security framework
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
- Proven teamwork, collaboration,
and delivery capability in secure enterprise environments
n
n
Highly Regarded Experience
n
n
- Networking, including routing/switching, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, and VLANs
n
- Scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ansible
n
- Virtualisation, Active Directory, and PKI
n
- QoS and DSCP traffic management in secure environments
n
n
Rate Guidance
n
Azooa recommends a competitive range of $130–$160/hour including super.
n
Candidates at the lower end of this range may be more competitive; however we still encourage applications above this range where there is strong alignment in:

- Security clearance
n
- Overall fit for the opportunity

In some cases, experience and technical strength may outweigh rate considerations.
