Your new role
n
We are seeking a trade‐qualified electrician with proven leadership experience to step into an Area Manager position. This is an ideal opportunity for a leading hand, supervisor, or experienced electrician ready to take the next step into a structured management role. You will be responsible for overseeing a dedicated manufacturing area, ensuring all electrical assemblies are completed to the highest quality standards while leading and developing your team.

Key responsibilities
n
n
- Managing the quality of switchboard builds, ensuring work is completed with minimal errors
n
- Reviewing and signing off QA documentation, including test sheets and final inspections
n
- Ensuring all products meet compliance requirements before dispatch
n
- Supervising completion of route cards and production documentation
n
- Leading daily workshop activities, coordinating labour, and meeting production deadlines
n
- Training and mentoring tradespeople and apprentices
n
- Identifying skill gaps and organising training with senior management
n
- Maintaining stock levels, workshop organisation, and housekeeping standards
n
- Running regular toolbox talks and enforcing safety and SOP compliance
n
- Working closely with Project Managers and Operations to deliver projects on time
n
- Managing performance, supporting your team, and fostering a positive culture
n
n
What you'll need to succeed
n
n
- A-grade electrical licence
n
- Experience in switchboard manufacturing or industrial electrical environments
n
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Supervisor, or Team Leader
n
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings, QA processes, and manufacturing workflows
n
- Ability to lead teams, manage performance, and mentor apprentices
n
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
n
- Strong communication and organisational skills
n
