Job Description
Senior Contract Administrator/ Contracts Manager
n
iCOST are a national commercial advisory firm (www.i-cost.com.au) providing support to Tier 1 and Tier 2 Main Contractors and large Subcontractors.
n
We currently have an opening for a Senior Contracts Administrator/ Contracts Manager with a focus on early procurement, based on the Gold Coast, within our Team.
n
Qualifications
n
n
- 9+ years minimum experience as a Senior Contracts Administrator/ Contracts Manager/ Commercial Manager with Procurement experience.
n
- Experience in high‐rise residential (essential).
n
- Advanced procurement experience.
n
- Experience setting‐up projects and early trade procurement (ideally).
n
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in relevant software packages such as ProcurePro, Microsoft Suite (including Excel) and Bluebeam Revu.
n
- Experience in CHEOPS/ Jobpac and similar construction accounting software (essential).
n
- Capable of thoroughly administering contracts, with a solid understanding of how contractual provisions are read, interpreted and followed.
n
- Ability to establish entitlements, analyse and value variations.
n
- Confident and proficient in all aspects of procurement, including the ability to draft project‐specific scopes of work.
n
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management and/or Law is desirable but not essential.
n

Responsibilities
n
n
- Procurement of trade packages, including developing comprehensive and accurate project‐specific scopes of works and full management of the tender process (analysis, interviews, recommendations, budget transfers).
n
- Contract administration.
n
- Negotiating with subcontractors on variations, scope and contract inclusions/exclusions.
n
- Seeking subcontractor/supplier quotations and proposals.
n
- Measure,
take‐off and produce Bills of Quantities (desirable).
n
- Assess and validate subcontractor claims, applying first‐principle cost valuation techniques.
n
- Liaising with relevant teams, design and engineering etc.
n
- Assist with monthly valuations and cost reporting.
n
- Managing subcontract packages including on‐site measuring, approving subcontract progress claims, preparing and issuing responding payment schedules via PayApps, through to final account.
n
- Invoice reviews and general site administration.
n
- Regular site / progress claim walks.
n
- Change management – regularly monitor, check and identify any design changes during construction, assessing cost impacts, negotiating variations and monitoring projected final account.
n
- Manage and drive the review process to ensure the award of all subcontractors within the required timeframe and budget.
n
- Minimise variation claims through firm and thorough contract management and change management.
n
- Ensure accurate cost forecasting and highlight any potential risks / overruns with the relevant project stakeholders.
n
- Interpret project documentation to understand scope of works for the project at head contract and subcontract scope level.
n
- Preparation of variations, claims and contractual notices.
n
- Assist with the preparation of monthly project reviews.
n
- Assess commercial and contractual risks involved in delivery and implementation of projects and identify and implement controls.
n
- Check compliance and prepare reporting on commercial performance of the contract.
n
