Role Description The Head of Construction at Maaken is a full-time, in office role based in Brisbane, Queensland, responsible for overseeing all construction operations across multiple concurrent projects. This role leads project delivery from planning through completion, ensuring quality, safety, budget, and schedule targets are consistently met. Key day-to-day activities include directing construction teams, coordinating with project managers, procurement, and site supervisors, and resolving operational issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

The Head of Construction will implement and refine construction processes,



monitor performance metrics, and ensure compliance with building standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. This position also contributes to strategic planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives to support Maaken’s growth and reputation for high-quality, efficient project execution.

Qualifications

- Strong Construction Management and Project Management skills to lead complex, multi-site projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in Budgeting and Project Control to manage cost, schedule, and risk while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Proficiency in Procurement to oversee sourcing, supplier relationships, and materials logistics for large-scale construction programs.
- Experience in residential and commercial construction environments, ideally with facades, wall systems, and flooring solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including team development, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Solid understanding of Australian building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices, particularly in Queensland
- Ability to analyze technical drawings, specifications, and contracts, and to make informed, timely decisions on-site.
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with builders, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Competence with construction project management software and digital tools for reporting and scheduling.
