Head of HR Business Partnering & Integration - OCU ANZ

Location: Hamilton, Brisbane

Hours: Full time

OCU is a global infrastructure and energy services business with more than 5,000 people delivering the projects that power communities and drive the energy transition. Our Australian and New Zealand operations are growing fast, largely through acquisition, and every acquisition brings a business with its own culture, its own way of working, its own strengths worth keeping.

That's where this role comes in. This is a hands-on role as much as a leadership one. You'll partner directly with Senior Leaders and General Managers day to day, lead the Business Partnering function across OCU ANZ, and own the people workstream for every acquisition and integration; the transitions, the cultural alignment, the workforce continuity and HR operational delivery.

Reporting directly to our ANZ Chief People Officer, this is a seat at the table in a fast-growing business.

What makes the role engaging

- Real ownership. The Business Partnering function across ANZ is yours to lead, and you're the primary strategic people advisor to Senior Leaders and General Managers across every business unit. You'll do that work yourself as well as through others, partnering closely with the local HR teams who support each business day to day.

- Building, not maintaining. Four businesses, four cultures, one connected OCU. You'll identify what makes each one work and bring those strengths together, leading the organisational design, workforce planning and structural change that makes growth sustainable rather than chaotic.

- A team to shape. You'll lead and grow a high-performing Business Partnering team; setting direction, building capability and succession, and modelling the values-led leadership you expect from others. Building trusted relationships with the local HR teams and business leaders across ANZ is central to how the function succeeds.

- Technical depth that matters. This isn't generic HR leadership. You'll own the Group remuneration framework,

lead enterprise bargaining across complex industrial environments, and bring real command of ANZ employment legislation to workforce risk decisions that are legally sound and commercially considered.

- A function built for what's next. From standing up new business units and greenfield sites before day one, to championing how AI and technology sharpen people decisions.

What you'll bring

- Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Commerce or a related discipline
- Minimum 8 years in senior HR, People & Culture or Business Partnering leadership roles
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering, energy, utilities or project-based industries
- A track record supporting mergers, acquisitions and organisational integration
- Proven leadership of organisational change and transformation programs
- Demonstrated success coaching senior leaders and executive teams
- Experience operating in high-growth, commercially focused and acquisitive organisations
- Strong understanding of Australian and New Zealand employment legislation and workforce practices
- Demonstrated experience in enterprise bargaining; negotiation, drafting, costing and implementation of enterprise agreements
- Experience developing or contributing to remuneration frameworks, job architecture or salary benchmarking

The skills that matter most

- Strategic business partnering with the ability to influence at executive level
- Strong stakeholder relationship development, including partnering with local HR teams across multiple businesses
- Advanced organisational design and workforce planning capability
- Strong change management and transformation experience
- Employee relations and workforce risk management across ANZ employment legislation
- Data analysis, workforce insights and organisational diagnostics
- Systems thinking with the ability to see across people, operations and business strategy and design what actually works at scale

If you've led people through acquisitions before, not just administered the process, but shaped whether it worked, and you want to build that capability from a position of real accountability, this could be the next role for you.
