Would you like a sea and tree change to a vibrant regional centre? St Joseph's College is a growing Catholic school catering for students from Three-Year-Old to Year Twelve. A Head of Science is required to develop the teaching and learning in this curriculum area across Year Seven to Year Twelve. The College will meet the costs of relocation to Albany for the successful applicant.
Selection Criteria The successful applicant must:
- Be supportive of the Catholic ethos of the College.
- Have a detailed knowledge of current curriculum developments in the Science teaching and learning area.
- Be prepared to lead by example, implement and use current educational practices and support staff in the area of Science.
- Have the capacity to teach Year Eleven and Twelve ATAR (Physics desirable).
- Have excellent planning skills and the ability to create programs that cater for individual differences.
- Have the ability to analyse and use data to inform teaching and learning practices in order to raise student levels of achievement.
- Possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills so as to engage positively with colleagues, students and parents.
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills that create a supportive and safe workplace.
- Have an excellent understanding of a variety of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students.
- Have the capacity to be a pro-active member of a professional learning community complying with legal, administrative and professional requirements.
- Demonstrate an ability to integrate technology effectively into the daily classroom environment.
- A preparedness to be fully involved in school activities.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
