Health and Safety Advisor | Subiaco | Corporate

- Key responsibilities include health and safety systems development, risk management, safety reporting, site support, training development and continuous improvement initiatives across mining operations.
The Role The Health and Safety Advisor will support the General Manager Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) with the development, standardisation and continuous improvement of Perseus' health and safety systems by creating practical safety frameworks, materials and reporting processes, while providing guidance to site teams to strengthen risk management, compliance, data integrity and safety performance across the business.
The role will be based at our Perth Head Office.
About You To succeed in this role, you are a collaborative and forward-thinking Health & Safety professional who is passionate about creating safer workplaces, driving positive change, and influencing positive safety outcomes across a dynamic mining environment.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- 3-5 years' experience in a health and safety role within a mining or resources environment.
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing and implementing health and safety systems, standards, procedures and frameworks.
- Sound understanding of risk management principles, including risk assessments, incident investigations and critical controls.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to develop clear, practical and engaging safety documentation, training materials and guidance resources.
- Experience in health and safety reporting, data management and analysis, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant health and safety legislation,
standards and industry best practice.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Well-developed interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across corporate and operational teams.
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to work effectively with guidance while taking ownership of assigned projects and deliverables.
- Strong computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office applications and health and safety management systems.
It would be beneficial if you have:
- Experience developing behavioural-based safety training or awareness materials.
- Knowledge of occupational hygiene risk assessment and occupational health management principles.
- Experience creating visual safety communication tools and workforce engagement materials.
- Exposure to data governance processes, reporting controls or health and safety management platforms.
- Familiarity with international mining health and safety standards, frameworks and best practice guidelines.
- Experience working with culturally diverse workforces and supporting operations across multiple jurisdictions.
Where you’ll be working
This position is based in Perseus’ Subiaco office, with a corporate team of approximately 60 employees and growing. You’ll join a small corporate team, allowing for close interactions across all departments and levels of the business.
