About The Opportunity

IFYS has an exciting opportunity for a Homeless Outreach Worker to join the Accommodation Services team within the Gympie region.

As the Homeless Outreach Worker, you will provide assertive outreach support to rough sleepers and individuals experiencing housing crisis, within a holistic and collaborative multi-agency model of service.

Our ideal candidate will possess a strong client-centred practice framework, have sound knowledge of local services and resources, and experience conducting intake assessments and delivering case management.

- Casual employment based in Gympie
- Casual hourly rate $50.61 (inclusive of 25% loading) + applicable penalty rates
- Working Monday to Friday, shifts are typically rostered from 8:30am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities Of The Role





- Provide place based assertive outreach to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or those at risk of homelessness
- Support and refer clients to access and engage with services to address their individual needs
- Work with other providers within a multi-agency team, to deliver a holistic and cooperative model of service
- Assist individuals with applications for housing and their transition to longer-term accommodation options
- Provide emotional, social and welfare support in a culturally safe, therapeutic and trauma informed manner
- Timely and accurate completion of administrative tasks including (but not limited to): maintenance of service user records, meeting minutes, completion of daily logs and required reporting

Requirements For The Role

- Demonstrated professional experience delivering case management to individuals experiencing homelessness
- Demonstrated ability to undertake risk assessments
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to build rapport quickly
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills within a multi-disciplinary setting
- A Certificate IV or higher qualification in a relevant area of study is highly regarded




- Experience working with people exhibiting challenging behaviours and complex needs
- The ability to work independently to achieve client and program outcomes

Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful

- Valid Queensland Driver’s License with no restrictions
- QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
- Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)
- National Crime Check (a new check will be completed through IFYS systems)
- Ability to provide two recent line manager references including your current employer
