The Team

OPAC_ 5A (Older Persons Acute Care) is located on Ward 5A, level 5, A Block at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH). 5A is an acute geriatric medical unit that provides specialist care for the treatment of conditions common in older people.

The Role

Acts as a member of a team and performs duties consistent with quality improvement guidelines to provide hospital aide services, general housekeeping including re-stocking, linen ordering, infection control cleans catering duties to patients and waste & linen management.

You will need

- Demonstrated knowledge of, and/or experience in, food, kitchen and personal hygiene.

- Demonstrated knowledge of, and an ability to, lift patients within manual handling guidelines and legislation.

- Ability to provide, and/or have experience in, cleaning services in a hospital or large organisation environment with knowledge of infection control practices and guidelines.

Permanent full time,



shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

- Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$65,827 to $68,854 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
