Job Description
The Opportunity
n
We're looking for an Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our Finance team and help lead the day-to-day Accounts Payable operations that support our growing business.
n
Based in Preston and reporting to the Accounts Payable 2IC & Retail Lead, this role will see you lead and support onshore and offshore Accounts Payable team members, while ensuring invoices, payments and reconciliations are processed accurately and within agreed timeframes.
n
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong Accounts Payable or finance operations experience who enjoys leading people, improving processes and working in a role where accuracy, service delivery and stakeholder relationships are key.

What You'll Be Doing
n
n
- Lead day-to-day Accounts Payable operations across onshore and offshore teams
n
- Ensure invoices, payments and reconciliations are processed accurately and on time
n
- Oversee supplier payments in line with trading terms and internal deadlines
n
- Support 3‐way matching processes for stock and non‐stock invoices
n
- Act as an escalation point for vendor queries, disputes and payment issues
n
- Coach, support and develop Accounts Payable team members
n
- Allocate workloads and ensure key tasks are prioritised during busy periods
n
- Prepare weekly and monthly Accounts Payable reports as required
n
- Track key performance indicators including processing times, error rates and aged payables
n
- Identify process gaps, risks and improvement opportunitiesi
n
- Support governance, compliance, audit requirements and internal controls
n
n
About You
n
You'll bring strong Accounts Payable or finance operations experience, along with the confidence to lead a team in a busy, high-volume environment.
n
To be successful, you will ideally bring:
n
n
- Strong experience in Accounts Payable, finance operations or a similar role
n
- Leadership,
supervisory or team coordination experience
n
- Strong experience using SAP S/4HANA
n
- Robust organisational, planning and time management skills
n
- High attention to detail and accuracy
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
n
- Confidence working with internal stakeholders and external vendors
n
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
n
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced Excel skills highly regarded
n
- Experience with SharePoint will be viewed favourably
n
n
Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys leading from the front, building strong relationships and supporting a team to deliver accurate, timely and consistent Accounts Payable outcomes.
