Our client is a fast-growing innovator in the clean energy sector, specialising in the design and delivery of advanced, grid-connected Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). As they scale their product capability and global manufacturing footprint, they are seeking two experienced engineering professionals to join their Melbourne-based team.

These are high-impact roles sitting at the centre of product development, safety, compliance, and system performance—directly contributing to the delivery of safe, reliable, and market-leading energy storage solutions.

Electrical Product Development Engineer (Technical Role)

n

This is a senior, hands‐on engineering position responsible for leading the electrical design, development, validation, and lifecycle management of complex BESS products.

n

Key focus areas:

n

n
- Lead electrical system design for grid-connected BESS (100kW – 5MVA+)
n
- Own protection design, system architecture, fault studies, arc flash, earthing, and power distribution engineering
n
- Define protection philosophies, interlocking, emergency shutdown, and system safety logic
n
- Ensure compliance with AS/NZS, IEC, UL9540/9540A, and grid connection standards
n
- Lead Safety in Design (SiD), systems engineering, and product validation processes
n
- Support certification, RCM compliance, FAT, and third‐party verification
n
- Manage technical documentation including SLDs, schematics, BOMs, and compliance matrices
n
- Collaborate with international manufacturing partners on prototypes and design iterations
n
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, performance, and manufacturability
n

About you:

n

n
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
n
- 5+ years' experience in electrical product development or engineered systems
n
- Solid LV/MV systems and protection coordination expertise
n
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent
n




- Proven ability to apply Australian standards in product design and compliance
n
- Experience in BESS, solar PV, or grid-connected systems highly regarded
n

Quality & Compliance Engineer

n

This role is responsible for ensuring all BESS products are safe, compliant, and ready for market release. You will own product-level compliance, quality governance, and certification readiness across the full lifecycle.

n

Key focus areas:

n

n
- Lead product safety and risk management (FMEA, SiD, hazard analysis, risk registers)
n
- Govern compliance with AS/NZS, IEC, UL9540A, NFPA, and grid requirements
n
- Oversee ISO 9001 Quality Management System for engineering
n
- Manage NCR, RCA, and CAPA processes and drive continuous improvement
n
- Approve FAT, type testing, and compliance documentation packages
n
- Support third‐party certification, audits, and regulatory submissions
n
- Oversee supplier compliance, documentation, and overseas QC partners
n
- Lead audit preparation and closure of corrective actions
n
- Ensure configuration management, document control, and change governance
n

n

About you:

n

n
- 5+ years' experience in quality, compliance, or regulatory engineering roles
n
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and structured QMS environments
n
- Experience in risk management, RCA/CAPA, and audit processes
n
- Strong understanding of engineering standards and compliance frameworks
n
- Background in electrical, energy, or complex engineered systems highly regarded
n
- Experience with UL9540A, certification bodies, or grid compliance advantageous
n
