Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale, complex digital health and ICT initiatives within a major government environment.
n
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, suppliers, technical teams and delivery specialists to ensure projects are properly governed, effectively managed and successfully delivered.
n
This position will suit a senior project professional who can take ownership of complex delivery, influence key stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Lead the definition, planning, documentation and successful delivery of large-scale, complex ICT projects.
n
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies and delivery milestones.
n
- Establish and maintain strong project governance, reporting and assurance processes.
n
- Monitor project performance and provide clear, accurate reporting to senior stakeholders.
n
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies and benefits realisation.
n
- Manage project expenditure, resources and capital costs against approved forecasts.
n
- Build productive relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers, technical teams and business representatives.
n
- Facilitate effective communication and support the successful adoption of business and technology change.
n
- Lead, manage and mentor multidisciplinary project teams.
n
- Apply appropriate project management methodologies, tools and delivery frameworks.
n
- Ensure project outcomes meet relevant quality, safety, governance and organisational standards.
n

Required Experience
n
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
n
n
- Extensive experience delivering large-scale, complex ICT or digital transformation projects.
n
- Strong project governance, planning, scheduling, financial management and reporting capability.
n
- Proven experience managing risks, issues, dependencies, benefits and project resources.
n
- Excellent senior stakeholder management and influencing skills.
n
- Demonstrated experience managing external suppliers and delivery partners.
n
- Strong negotiation, consultation, facilitation and communication skills.
n
- Experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary project teams.
n
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving capability.
n
- The ability to operate effectively within a complex government or enterprise environment.
n
n
Highly Desirable
n
n
- Experience delivering digital health, healthcare technology or clinical system projects.
n
- Queensland Government or broader public‐sector project delivery experience.
n
- PRINCE2 certification or demonstrated experience applying PRINCE2 methodologies.
n
- A relevant qualification in project management, information technology or a related discipline.
n
- Experience supporting major organisational and technology change programs.
n
- Additional Requirements
n
- Full‐time availability for the duration of the contract.
n
- Ability to work primarily onsite in Fortitude Valley, five days per week.
n
- The position may require approximately 8–10 hours per day, subject to project requirements and agreement with the Program Director.
n
- Some travel may be required.
n
- A current Queensland C Class driver licence is desirable.
n
- Successful applicants may be required to complete criminal history, identity, work‐rights and other pre‐engagement screening.
n
