About the role: The HR & Mobilisation Officer will play a key role in supporting and delivering a broad range of human resources functions across the business. This role provides operational HR support to managers and employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, Australian employment laws, and workplace relations frameworks. The position also contributes to developing and implementing HR initiatives that foster a positive, high-performing, and safety-conscious workplace culture.
HR & Mobilisation Officer will support the mobilisation of employees and candidates for Project Ceres, Karratha, WA, including candidates recruited from different parts of Australia and internationally. The role will work closely with Recruitment, HR, Immigration, Project Management, and relevant external stakeholders to ensure candidates are successfully prepared and mobilised within agreed project timelines.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
- Support the resolution of employee relations matters, including grievances, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
- Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act, Australian Employment Standards (AES), and relevant industrial instruments.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in line with legislative and company requirements.
- Assist in implementing performance management systems and annual review processes.
- Support employee learning and development initiatives, including training coordination and tracking.
- Coordinate onboarding and induction programs for new employees to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
- Maintain HRIS and ensure data accuracy.
- Generate regular HR metrics and reports for management (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, diversity, training).
- Support the end-to-end mobilisation process for Project Ceres employees, ensuring candidates are progressed efficiently from selection through onboarding and mobilisation.
Required Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- 5-8 years' experience in a generalist HR role, preferably within the manufacturing, mining, or industrial sectors.
- Solid understanding of Australian employment law and HR best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships.
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and organisational skills.
- Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG, SAP, or similar).
- Knowledge of enterprise agreements and industrial relations frameworks.
- Experience supporting FIFO or site-based operations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a quick-paced environment.
