Electrical Procurement Specialist – Solar & BESS

Pay range: A$125,000.00/yr – A$145,000.00/yr

As our Australian project portfolio grows, we are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer with solar and/or BESS experience to join our Procurement team. This role will support the sourcing, procurement, and management of electrical materials, equipment, and subcontracted services across utility‐scale solar, HV/LV substations, and BESS projects, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, budgets, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead procurement of electrical equipment, materials, and subcontracted services for utility‐scale solar and BESS projects, ensuring compliance with project technical specifications.
n
- Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, and Commercial teams to coordinate procurement activities and support project timelines.
n
- Evaluate supplier proposals, assist in preparing RFQs, and provide technical input to purchasing decisions.
n
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring delivery, quality, and safety standards are met.
n
- Support tendering and pre‐contract activities by providing electrical engineering expertise for procurement and supplier selection.
n
- Contribute to long‐term supplier relationship management and sourcing strategies.
n
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for procurement processes, systems,



and technical standards.

Qualifications & Experience

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
n
- 3–5+ years' experience in electrical procurement within EPC, construction, or subcontractor environments.
n
- Hands‐on experience supporting solar and/or BESS projects in Australia.
n
- Strong knowledge of LV, MV, and HV electrical systems, substations, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and balance‐of‐system components.
n
- Experience from tender through to project delivery, with a strong commercial and technical understanding of electrical packages.
n
- Understanding of Australian energy standards, grid codes, and regulatory frameworks.
n
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and procurement reporting tools.
