Are you an experienced civil infrastructure professional with a background in inspections, asset management, construction, or maintenance? We are partnering with a highly regarded Sydney metropolitan council seeking an Infrastructure Inspector to join their Infrastructure Services team on a contract basis.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for monitoring and inspecting third-party works impacting council assets, ensuring compliance with legislation, permits, technical specifications, and restoration requirements. You'll work closely with developers, utility providers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to protect public infrastructure and deliver positive community outcomes.

Your new role

- Monitor and inspect developer, utility, and contractor works affecting council infrastructure.
- Review permits, public domain plans, and activity notices.
- Investigate unauthorised works and facilitate asset rectification and cost recovery.
- Coordinate and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve compliant infrastructure outcomes.
- Identify infrastructure defects and ensure timely rectification.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and stakeholder communications.

What you'll need to succeed




- Experience in civil infrastructure inspection, construction, maintenance, asset management, or a related field.
- Ability to interpret construction plans, permits, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of local government infrastructure environments and relevant legislation will be highly regarded.
- Current NSW Class C Driver Licence.
- Qualification in Civil Construction, Asset Management, Building & Construction, Local Government or a related discipline is desirable.
