About COSOL

COSOL is a 25-year-old, ASX-listed asset management consulting and technology firm operating across asset intensive industries, including utilities, water, energy, mining, oil & gas, and transport.

About the Role

COSOL runs its own proprietary cloud environment, built on AWS over more than a decade, that hosts customer data and underpins the platforms our clients use every day. The Infrastructure Support Manager owns that environment, its performance, security, and reliability. Where our client facing teams build the dashboards, AI models, and analytics customers actually see, this role owns everything underneath, the infrastructure and backend those tools run on.

This is a hands on, technical role with 1 to 2 direct reports in time. You'll be doing genuine engineering work yourself, not just directing others.

You'll work closely with capability leads, delivery, technical, and commercial teams to maintain service standards, manage incidents, and contribute to infrastructure strategy and continuous improvement.

Much of the team sits in Albury, NSW, while COSOL's head office is in Brisbane, Australia. This position can be worked remotely from anywhere in Australia. We have a preference for candidates based in Albury or Brisbane, while we're open to candidates based anywhere, including Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.

What You'll Do

Infrastructure Management & Operations

- Manage and continuously upgrade COSOL's proprietary AWS based cloud environment, which hosts customer data and the platforms built on top of it
- Provision and configure new, isolated environments for new customers as they onboard
- Lead the planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades, migrations, patches, and deployments
- Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation,

asset registers, and configuration records
- Monitor infrastructure health and capacity, identifying and addressing risks before they impact operations
- Support customers who require their own cloud environment (e.g. Microsoft/Azure) rather than COSOL's own, cross cloud knowledge is genuinely used, not just AWS

Support Services & Service Delivery
- Manage the delivery of infrastructure related support requests, incidents, and escalations across internal teams and client environments
- Ensure support requests, incidents, and escalations are triaged, prioritised, and resolved within agreed timeframes
- Own and maintain service management processes including incident, problem, change, and request management
- Develop and monitor SLAs and key performance metrics, reporting regularly to leadership
- Identify recurring issues and lead root cause analysis to reduce repeat incidents and drive service improvement

Client Engagement
- Act as a key technical point of contact for clients on infrastructure, environment, and security matters
- Communicate clearly with clients, including non technical stakeholders, on environment performance, incidents, and planned maintenance activities
- Identify opportunities to improve or expand infrastructure support services for clients
- Support the enablement of AI tools that form part of COSOL's product suite

Security & Compliance
- Own the security posture of the workplace, including patching, vulnerability management,

and coordinating penetration testing
- Ensure infrastructure environments are managed in line with COSOL's information security obligations, including ISO 27001 requirements
- Ensure access controls, backup procedures, and disaster recovery practices are in place and tested regularly
- Support internal and external audits and ensure findings are actioned within agreed timeframes

Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the development of COSOL's infrastructure roadmap and technology strategy
- Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure efficiency, resilience, and cost effectiveness
- Stay current with emerging technologies, vendor developments, and industry best practice
- Lead or contribute to infrastructure related projects and initiatives

What You'll Bring

- Strong, hands on AWS cloud engineering experience, you've genuinely built, run, and secured cloud infrastructure, not just overseen it
- Demonstrated experience in an infrastructure/cloud engineering role, ideally with some exposure to leading or mentoring others
- Practical experience with security and compliance practice, patch management, vulnerability management, penetration testing coordination, and ideally direct exposure to ISO 27001 or an equivalent framework
- Comfort working across multiple isolated customer environments, including provisioning new ones
- Working knowledge of at least one alternative cloud platform (e.g. Microsoft Azure), as some customers require their own environment
- Experience managing IT support functions/service desk operations, including SLA management
- Familiarity with ITIL or equivalent service management frameworks
- Relevant technical certifications, AWS, Microsoft, or equivalent (desirable, not required if hands on experience is strong)
