Basketball Victoria is seeking a dedicated and experienced Integrity & Investigations Officer to facilitate the implementation and management of the National Integrity Framework (NIF) across Victoria. This critical role ensures basketball remains a safe, fair, and inclusive environment for all participants at every level of the game.
In this position, you will attend the day-to-day Integrity needs of Basketball Victoria as well as providing key Integrity advice and support to our 140 basketball Associations throughout the state. This may include, but is not limited to, management of reports and complaints, lead investigations, and develop robust education, prevention, and risk mitigation strategies.
You will work collaboratively with Basketball Australia, Member Associations, and other stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of integrity in Victorian basketball. This role is full-time based at the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna South.

The broad objectives of BV are to provide for the advancement, encouragement, conduct, promotion and administration of Basketball in Victoria. In addition to supporting our affiliated Basketball associations, BV delivers a number of participation programs making basketball Everybody’s Game, as well as player, coach and technical official development programs to encourage the development of socially desirable attitudes and values towards physical fitness, skill acquisition and performance pathways.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Advise the Basketball Victoria Executive team on integrity matters and investigations.
- Support daily Integrity Department operations and improve policies.
- Build strong relationships with Member Associations, government, and law enforcement.
Investigation & Enforcement
- Govern the National Integrity Framework (NIF) in Victoria, including education, prevention, and investigations.
- Investigate issues like match incidents, spectator behaviour and child safeguarding.
- Prepare evidence and reports for hearings and tribunals.
- Work with other integrity units and support stakeholders.
- Identify risks and ensure legal compliance.
- Focus on participant safety when handling serious cases.
Safeguarding
- Respond to all reports and complaints, including child safety concerns.
- Work with child protection agencies when needed.
- Provide support to all parties involved.
Education
- Help develop and deliver integrity training and workshops.
- Keep up to date with policies and integrity issues in sport.
Information & Intelligence Gathering
- Keep confidential records of complaints and investigations.
- Help improve state and national integrity systems.
Key Success Measures
- Efficiently manage complaints and reports using relevant systems.
- Conduct investigations following the National Integrity Framework (NIF) and all laws.
- Keep the Integrity Team fully informed of important matters in Victoria through strong collaboration.
- Improve understanding of the NIF among participants, complainants, and stakeholders through education and relationship-building.
- Promote a secure, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone involved in basketball.
- Ensure all complainants and respondents are treated with respect and receive appropriate support.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Act promptly to report any suspected child abuse or neglect to the proper authorities.
About you You are a values-driven professional with strong investigative, communication, and stakeholder management skills. You’re passionate about creating secure sporting environments and can navigate sensitive matters with discretion, professionalism, and a people-first mindset.
You will have
- Relevant qualifications or significant experience in law, investigations, intelligence, or a related field.
- Experience in complaint management, investigations, and/or sport integrity frameworks.
- A strong understanding of legal compliance, safeguarding, and risk mitigation practices.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, investigations, or 5+ years’ experience in law enforcement or similar
- Experience with sport disciplinary procedures preferred
