About Powerhouse
Powerhouse Museum is located at the intersection of arts, design, science, and technology and plays a critical role in engaging communities with contemporary ideas and issues. It is the custodian of more than half a million objects of national and international significance and is considered one of the finest and most diverse collections in Australia. We are undertaking a landmark $1.3 billion infrastructure renewal program, led by the creation of Powerhouse Parramatta; expanded research and public facilities at Powerhouse Castle Hill; the heritage revitalisation of the iconic Powerhouse Ultimo; and the ongoing operation of Sydney Observatory.
About the Role
Are you interested in festivals, events and public engagement? Join the Powerhouse team as a Parramatta Festival Intern and help deliver one of Australia's newest and most exciting cultural festivals.
Working alongside the Festivals team, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of festival programs and activations leading up to and during the opening of Powerhouse Parramatta. You'll gain hands-on experience across programming, production and event operations while contributing to memorable visitor experiences.
This internship is ideal for students interested in arts, events, museums, festivals or cultural programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of festival programs and activations
- Assist with scheduling, logistics, documentation and preparation of program materials
- Assist with festival delivery, including event set-up, visitor interaction and pack-down
- Work collaboratively with Powerhouse staff, interns and project partners
