- act as a subject matter expert (SME) in the VEMB Training Team, contribute to training program development and implementation for the Export Meat and Live Animal Sections within our branch
n
- develop, coordinate and support the delivery of training to ensure there is national consistency across operational staff in the Export Meat and Live Animal Sections
n
- use your operational and regulatory experience to identify training needs and conduct training analysis to enhance workforce capability and consistency
n
- review, develop and validate training materials and delivery, ensuring alignment with workplace and regulatory requirements
n
- provide expert advice on induction training programs, mentor new starters and provide ongoing technical capability development for all relevant staff
n
- collaborate with stakeholders, including various internal teams, to enhance training and capability outcomes
n
- support capability development through mentoring, coaching, and professional development initiatives
n
- contribute to the assessment, verification and moderation of skills, knowledge and competency
n
- contribute to governance processes, data analysis and reporting to ensure continuous improvement in training programs
n
- represent the department in relevant forums, conveying complex technical information
n
- maintain awareness of emerging risks,
regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure training remains current and effective
n
n
Knowledge and experience
n
n
- understanding of legislative frameworks, government decision-making processes and regulation
n
- understanding of the operational workplace in the Export Meat and Live Animal Sections or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge
n
- demonstrated understanding of training and adult learning principles
n
- experience in coaching and mentoring
n
n
Mandatory qualifications
n
n
- veterinary degree from an Australian university or equivalent veterinary qualification recognised in Australia; registration, or eligibility for registration, with the relevant Australian state/territory veterinary board and maintenance of registration whilst employed by the department
n
n
Eligibility and other requirements
n
n
- hold and maintain a valid Australian motor vehicle driver licence
n
- may be required to perform occasional out-of-hours and weekend work
n
- wear appropriate protective personal equipment and clothing to comply with departmental Work Health & Safety policies and procedures
n
- required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination which will include Q‐Fever tests and that Q‐Fever immunisation will be required where immunity cannot be established
