The Opportunity
n
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Associate Director to join our Business Services & Tax division in our Sydney CBD office. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing a significant client portfolio, driving strategic growth initiatives, and mentoring high-performing teams within a energetic, growth-focused environment.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will work closely with Partners to deliver high-level tax advisory and business services solutions to a diverse client base including SMEs, private groups, high-net-worth individuals, and emerging corporates.

Key Responsibilities
n
Client Leadership & Advisory
n
n
- Manage and grow a substantial portfolio of business services and tax clients
n
- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory across areas including:
n
- Income tax
n
- CGT
n
- Div 7A
n
- Trust structuring
n
- Small business concessions
n
- Business restructuring and succession planning
n
- Review complex financial statements and income tax returns
n
- Act as a trusted advisor to business owners and key stakeholders
n
- Identify value-add advisory opportunities and cross-sell firm services
n
n
Leadership & Team Development
n
n
- Lead,
mentor and develop Managers and Senior Accountants
n
- Oversee workflow management, WIP control and billing performance
n
- Drive a high-performance culture aligned with firm values
n
- Contribute to recruitment and succession planning initiatives
n
n
Commercial & Strategic Contribution
n
n
- Support Partners with strategic planning and growth initiatives
n
- Drive business development through networking and relationship management
n
- Strengthen referral networks across legal, banking and finance sectors
n
- Maintain strong risk management and compliance standards
n
n
About You
n
n
- 8–12+ years' experience within public practice (mid-tier or large boutique preferred)
n
- Demonstrated experience managing a sizeable client portfolio
n
- Strong technical expertise in Australian taxation
n
- Proven leadership capability with experience managing and mentoring teams
n
- Commercially minded with strong business development acumen
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
