The Role
An excellent opportunity to provide technical and functional administrative support in the design, development and coordination of Operational Training's courses and programs. The position will support the successful implementation, monitoring and review of workplace learning and assessment programs in line with RTO and organisation requirements. Support the Manager Training Development and Senior Training Developer's with the development of training resources for the delivery of training courses/programs and assist in the evaluation of training programs to ensure the most up-to-date training resources and programs are available for FRV personnel.
Functional Accountabilities
- Design and develop learning and assessment resources aligned to RTO standards.
- Support the development of operational learning pathways and competency programs.
- Apply quality assurance processes, including competency mapping and resource reviews.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to create effective training solutions.
- Evaluate, maintain and continuously improve training materials and programs.
- Translate organisational lessons and operational insights into learning resources.
- Contribute to e-learning, workplace learning and assessment initiatives.
- Support training compliance and quality outcomes within an RTO framework.
The Team
Fire Rescue Victoria's Operational Training Development team is responsible for ensuring FRV remains operationally ready to respond effectively to fire and emergency events across Victoria. The team has responsibility for all Operational Training Development and Training Service Delivery activities required to train and develop FRV Firefighters, including specialist training and equipment for FRV technical specialist roles.
The Directorate also plays a vital role in protecting life and property across Victoria by focusing on fire and other emergency prevention, education, and proactive risk reduction. The Directorate provides expert advice and specialist technical information across a broad range of fire and community safety portfolios.

What you will need to Succeed
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Tertiary qualification in Education, Human Resources or a related discipline (desirable).
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in competency-based training and assessment.
- Knowledge of instructional and facilitation techniques, assessment and evaluation methodologies.
- Knowledge of training processes with demonstrated experience developing learning and assessment resources and programs aligned to Training Packages. Demonstrated experience working in an RTO environment.
- Experience in e-learning material development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.
