Assistant Director of the Implementation team is responsible for leading a team of facilitators and administrators that support the implementation and analysis of learning solutions for Commission staff.

Position Duties

Leadership and accountability
n
n
- Lead and develop learning implementation team within People Capability Development
n
- Supervise Learning Management System (LMS) administrators in tasks such as course uploads, user management, tracking, and reporting.
n
- Provide strategic advice, problem solving and issues management in relation to the coordination and facilitation of learning.
n
- Monitor work progress and the delivery of key projects.
n
- Provide staff with learning opportunities, especially those relating to priority learning needs.
n
n
Learning coordination
n
n
- Lead the administration and optimisation of the Commission's LMS to ensure smooth user experience and system reliability.
n
- Manage internal learning programs.
n
- Develop and maintain continuous improvement practices.
n
- Maintain and distribute accurate records of Commission learning, as required.
n
n
Policy and systems
n
n
- Provide leadership in translating government policies into strategies and practices that support the Commission's and the Government's objectives.
n
- Apply work knowledge, policy, procedures and guidelines to support the consistent management and system improvement of Commission learning.
n
n
Program management & quality improvement
n
n
- Manage projects and/or lead the change and learning stream for large programs.
n
- Develop and maintain continuous improvement practices.
n
- Regularly review the effectiveness of learning and development approaches.
n
- Lead consultation with internal stakeholders about learning needs and activities.
n
- Collaborate on cross-agency projects to meet corporate objectives.
n
n
Position Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria)
n
n
- Experience leading effective teams - including work, engagement, wellbeing and performance management.
n
- Demonstrated experience in project management in a learning development context.
n
- Understanding of adult learning principles, and experience applying this to a wide range of learning solutions.
n
- Excellent ability to use clear and influential communication skills to develop productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
n
- Proven critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
n
- Understand and actively demonstrate the APS Code of Conduct and Values.
n
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
n
- Ability to travel interstate and intrastate as required.
n

Position Notes
n
n
- Salary offered will be between $122,620- $139,850 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.
n
- Only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply. Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check.
n
- Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term. Opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
n
